JAY HIND Urban Forest
- Upcoming
It is with deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility that I take on
the role of President of our esteemed organization.
My association with this body spans 24 years, during which I’ve had the privilege
of serving in various capacities — as Cultural Secretary, Sports Coordinator,
Scientific Secretary, Vision Editor, Treasurer, and General Secretary.
Each role has been a valuable learning experience, and I am truly thankful to my
seniors and colleagues whose constant encouragement and support have made it possible
for me to contribute meaningfully over the years.
As I now take on this new role, I do so with a spirit of humility and collaboration.
I see the President’s position not as a ceremonial role, but as one that supports,
coordinates, and strengthens the collective efforts of the entire team. My aim is to
work in tandem with all office bearers and committee members, ensuring that our activities
remain purposeful, inclusive, and engaging for all.
In the coming months, we will take time to review our current
activities and programs — with the intention of understanding what
continues to serve us well, and where we might make meaningful improvements.
Alongside this, we hope to conceptualize fresh ideas that reflect the evolving
needs of our members, and perhaps revive some older, much-loved initiatives
that brought joy and togetherness into the past.
This organization belongs to all of us. I invite every member to continue
participating, contributing, and sharing ideas so we can collectively
strengthen the spirit that binds us together.
I am Honoured to be elected to the post of General Secretary of the prestigious
Kandivali Medical Association (KMA).
The motto of KMA say's it all: FRIENDSHIP AND FRATERNITY FOREVER.
We are here to create close and trusting relationship based on mutual
affection, support, and understanding. Create a sense of camaraderie and
unity with a shared purpose of serving our neighborhood - forever.
This term we go Back-to-the-Basics - "PREVENTION"
The phrase "Prevention is better, safer, and cheaper" highlights the
significant advantages of taking proactive measures to avoid problems before
they arise. It emphasizes the economic and health benefits of preventing issues
compared to dealing with their consequences, which can be costly and risky.
Safer:
Preventing problems in the first place avoids the risks associated with dealing
with them later. For example, preventing diseases through vaccination or healthy
lifestyle choices is safer than dealing with the potentially serious complications
of the disease.
Better:
Prevention allows for a more proactive approach to health and well-being.
By focusing on preventive measures, individuals can maintain a higher quality
of life and avoid the burden of chronic illnesses.
Cheaper:
Preventing problems can be significantly less expensive than treating
them later. For example, preventative care for dental health is often less
costly than the treatment required for a serious dental problem.
